An American Werewolf in London (1981) – The special effects
are quite impressive, but after a promising start, the film falls inertly into
the vast horror/comedy no-man’s-land, and Landis doesn’t seem particularly interested
in developing his story or in setting an immersive tone one way or the other. 5
