The Steel Helmet (1951) – This is solid low-budget work from
Fuller: it’s got a good cast of characters (and some good performances), an
engrossing infusion of culture, and immersive levels of human drama and
character focus – all this plus a respectful treatment of racial issues and
the origin of “Short Round.” 7
